The Story of the Land Where We Stand

The Building for Kids Children's Museum created an interactive installation in collaboration with the Menominee Nation. This exhibit was developed to inspire conversations among families about the history of the land where the Building for Kids now stands.

You can find a statement of the piece on the lower left side of the wooden panel written by the artist Renny Katchenago. There is a button near each picture that is interactive and shares with you some of the Menominee language.

This is one of the first exhibits in the Fox Cities area that represent our Indigenous Culture and we were so excited to learn of this new exhibit being created, and thank those all involved for allowing us to share in this experience.

Thank you to the Building for Kids Children's Museum, the College of the Menominee Nation, The Menominee Language and Culture Commission, Kaehkenawapahtaeq Charter School, Menominee Indian School District, the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region and the Wisconsin Arts Board.

This was such a wonderful way to start off Native American Heritage Month and we hope you all take a moment to visit the new exhibit when you have the chance!
